Phase I moves forward. This phase includes rebuilding the gable end of the structure which was severely damaged during the hurricanes in the past few years, adding new trusses, metal decking, and a new roof system. The most important design feature added in this Phase is not noticeable to the common person passing by this structure as it was done inside the building to tie down the roof to the foundations thru the walls and three floors using helical piers and connection of the roof system directly to the piers. The roofing system is now tied down by means of this independent system. This design feature removed the roof load from the exterior walls and exterior brackets.
