This two-story, 14,000 SF Emergency Operations Center (EOC) and Administrative Office received the “Excellence in Construction”, Associated Builders and Contractors Award in 2008. The building is designed to withstand a Category 5 Hurricane with 200 mph winds. This facility also includes a kitchen, bunkroom and ‘War Room’ for emergency coordination. Briefing and display systems were installed to provide timely graphics, imagery, and data displays. Telecommunications were installed to maintain communication such as: radio LAN/WAN, telephone, electronic mail servers compatible with emergency power to the EOC, plus HVAC requirements with stand-alone administrative telephones, with emergency 911 functions. To the rear of the building is a screened vehicle yard with adjacent fuel storage, generator, and chiller structures.
